This is true — and I hate that it’s true.
After 35 years in business, I’ve watched ESG and DEI turn from common sense and decency into political footballs.
How did we let that happen?
These ideas were supposed to make business better — fairer, cleaner, more human. Instead, they’ve been hijacked by spin doctors and culture warriors, both sides shouting while the real work — the hard, unglamorous stuff — gets lost.
ESG isn’t “woke.” DEI isn’t “policy.”
They’re about People · Planet · Progress.
And if you can’t get behind that, you shouldn’t be leading anything.
I’m tired of watching good intentions drowned in politics and fear.
Either we mean it — or we stop pretending.
