Hello,
Between The Third Half list and those of you who’ve subscribed to me directly, there are about 180 of you receiving this.
Which is modest.
But I know many more people are reading, watching and listening across Substack, YouTube, Spotify and LinkedIn.
That’s brilliant — but it does make me think.
I’m considering a small shift: letting full interviews, for example, land with subscribers first, with shorts and clips still freely available everywhere, and the full conversation released publicly a few days maybe a week later. I might introduce other subscriber content only too - some of this possible new.
Nothing paid. Nothing locked away. Just a quiet nod to those who’ve opted in.
Before I change anything, I’d value your view:
• Does that feel reasonable?
• Would it make subscribing more meaningful?
• What, if anything, would make being on this list feel genuinely worthwhile?
The Third Half isn’t meant to be “content”. It’s conversations about People, Planet and Progress — with sport, music and the occasional cheese board thrown in.
If you think it’s worth growing, I’d also appreciate you forwarding the Weekly newsletter to one of two friends or colleagues who might enjoy it, and asking them to subscribe.
No tricks. No funnels. Just word of mouth.
Thanks for being part of it. Just trying to gauge how to move it forward.
Answer me by return or whatever means seems suitable!
Cheers
Scott

Hi Scott I’m enjoying the content, and having just landed in Edinburgh for the weekend also any Alban content (if that’s the right word!) I’m surprised you haven’t made more of the dire M6N showing of the England Rugby Union team to be honest!! 🙂
